California State Parks Foundation is a member-supported nonprofit dedicated to protecting, improving and advocating for all of California’s state parks.

California State Parks Foundation (CSPF) is pleased to announce that we are holding an open grantmaking cycle this fall, awarding grants up to $20,000 each to support projects focused on increasing youth access to state parks throughout California. We are looking for applications from programs that are unique, highly impactful and focused on connecting underserved youth to nature and nature-based experiences.

CSPF is open to a broad interpretation of increasing access, whether it be through physical, financial, cultural or educational means. We look forward to reviewing your applications. For more information on this grant round, please see our FAQ

CSPF is committed to increasing youth access and exposure to state parks. We are dedicated to creating meaningful and transformative experiences for youths to facilitate the deep appreciation for parkland that is the foundation of launching the next generation of empowered park stewards.

Our Parks, Our Future is CSPF’s latest initiative that embodies these beliefs. Through policy advocacy and grantmaking, CSPF will work alongside all organizations to expand access, improve equity, and maintain park excellence.

Applications are due on Friday, November 16, 2018 and awards will be made by early February, 2019.

The grant term will be 18 months to allow for programming to take place as late as summer of 2020. The grant term will commence on March 1, 2019 and will end on August 30, 2020. All funding must be spent by August 30, 2020. A final report will be due on October 1, 2020, however if funding was used for activities taking place prior to the summer of 2020, we would prefer that a report is submitted at the close of the grant activity. Additionally, grantees may be asked to submit an interim report to document the status of their work.
